Work boots. They slip on and you don't have to worry about dropping a knife through them, in most cases.

I wear pull on work boots nearly every day, because they are easy to slip on and off. If I'm not wearing those I usually wear trainers.

They got jitterbugs in there to. I'm partial to hula poppers. My personal best largemouth was on one.

I'm not a call guy but, that is a sweet looking call. Is that something he makes and sells or something he threw together special?
I like wood calls but, they just don't last here in the rainforests of Oregon and Washington.

I'd think a wood call as apt to crack from spit on the inside as rain on the outside. Know my hedge calls get annual treatments with Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner. So far, so good. Knock wood.

Ever since you've recommended it, it's all I've used and does a wonderful job so far. Seems to penetrate through the grain of the wood better than others I've tried. Yet to have taken one on a super cold northern trip since using it, but only because I didn't get enough time last season to go, to see how handles really cold weather. I think it'll do fine though.

I used boiled linseed oil on my tool handles and wooden duck calls.

I've used boiled linseed oil on gun stocks with disappointing result when hunted in rain, so I've not tried it on calls. My logic in trying Howard's was that a compound (food grade mineral oil, beeswax and carnauba wax) long used to preserve wooden cutting blocks, bowls and kitchen ware has well stood the water test. But it won't make bare wood pretty - unless you're fond, as I am, of a well used appearance.
