I shot at 1000 yards today with open sights. 3 shots 3 dings.

Easy to think that but it is the pinnacle of the shooting sports when it comes to accuracy and performance, especially the mechanics of reloading, bullet seating, rifling, head spacing and repeatable performance. Think of shooting a .3000" five shot group from a sand bag rest with a .243 bullet (6mm) When someone can do that and do it again, I believe that if he says that one scope preforms better than another, I would tend to listen to him, write it down so that I don't forget and put it in the bank. For what I hunt and shoot, do I need that accuracy, I think not but I sure know that if something is wrong, there are starting places from wince to start making corrections.
