One thing thats been on my radar is to get a float coat. Jgun has a real nice one thats super warm too.
I coulda used one a few years back when i had the tiller handle come off in my hand going wide open and almost fell out the boat without a pfd.

We picked up a couple auto inflatable's because I'm terrible about wearing one otherwise. Still have to take it off in the layout, cuz I can't shoot with it on. But wearing it while transferring from boat to boat is probably smart.
Buddy has been wearing his all season and last weekend I grabbed it out of the truck for him and said "whoa...dude, this thing isn't even armed!" He gives me a WTF do you mean look. I opened it and viola...no Co2 cylinder. Good thing it was t needed!

I tested mine in July by jumping in the pool...decided that I was t going to trust my life to the lowest cost assembly provider.

I have a float coat made by onyx that i wear on the boat ride to the spot i will be hunting and keep my other coat in the boat so I can take the float coat off when i get there. Its pretty comfortable but there is no way i can shoot with it on because i cant feel my gun

This is the coat I have in black. Scoter magnet when you're standing in the decoys.
Comfortable enough to wear while shooting too. It saved my shoulder while I was shooting the rifle yesterday also.

Just got one to wear when I'm running by myself. It's pretty comfortable to wear.

I don't need to wear my pfd because I can swim and if I'm far from shore I can put it on in the water...
