Batten down the fuckin' hatches and tie everything that floats to the house foundation. The jet stream coming out of Hawaii looks almost eternal at this point. You guys are gonna get a real taste of what it is like to live in Oregon from November to May in the coming week or more. You might be rethinking those retirement plans soon.
It is pouring like a cow pissing on a flat rock here and has been for 2 days and the worst part will not be here until Sunday.
Time to build some floating blinds and get them in place.
Red, tie them youngins to something that floats.
You're gonna be able to scull all the farmers' fields for aleutian this spring if it doesn't stop soon.
But for real, take care down there it's gonna be a soaker for sure.

its been pouring and windy as hell here for a few days now, and theyre talking of flooding in some areas. its been a real bitch to be running around, delivering stupid boxes in this shit. closed down a local refuge, been a decent little spot for us so far this season. the bypass is gonna blow out and fuck the duck hunting up for us around here, unless we get a real big push of fresh new birds. youre not gonna get any happy ending updates from us here unless we decide to drive on over the boarder to nevada and find us an asian "massage" parlor.

It's wetter then a 17 year old on prom night around here. The Sacramento River is forecast to raise 22 feet in two days and the duck hunting has sucked camel d!€k despite the weather. I'm going to take a drive Sunday or Monday and take some pictures of the high water.

We are just lucky we have plenty of room in our lakes for the water right now. Ill be holding my breath for the rest of winter hoping we don't end up under water. Oh the joys of living in a giant fish bowl.

I'm sure that's exactly what those fags down there are thinking! They need to cut this state in half.

Mike, Humboldt county usually gets its fair share of rain. It's nothing new to us. Although I think y'all are typically wetter than us. But you're right, hunting from here on out is gonna be tough. I might very well be able to scull cattle fields

The storm doesn't seem to be as bad as they thought it was going to be. I did go down to my club and put everything up just in case it did flood, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen. I could be wrong though. Hope it doesn't, I hate cleaning up the cabin after a flood.

I'm hoping for 6 fucking feet of snow this winter. I got a side gig shoveling off roofs for cash money by the hour.

Last year we ran Clydes sled in to aflooded field he had permission to hunt, to get our layouts and deeks there. Biggest problem that day was the usual January overabundance of Bull Spriq. We werre covered in Pintail the whole hunt.
It was flooded to the point the ferry they cross the Willamette river in was shut down and, we launched his boat from a road over 100 yards up from where the gate was to enter the ferry during normal operation. We ran the boat over the the gate and fencing, it was completely submerged.

Ok so it's 0030 hours and the wind is sustained 30 mph out of the south and its stinging rain. (Forest Gump). The duck hunting has been garbage so I think when I get home from work I'm going to try a trick out of grandpa's hunting hand book. I'm going to look for a snow goose flyway and go lay under it and wait. If the wind keeps up I should get some shooting.

We've had good luck sitting on fencelines for low flying geese in high winds.

It has beed bad. A buddy and I went down for Wednesday and Thursday, sailed one duck Wed., and got one Thurs. We saw quite a few ducks on Wed, but they were high and didn't work, Thurs we barely saw any ducks. We need some cold weather to bring down some more birds, until then I don't think I will be out much.

Yeah, I talk to him every few weeks. He just picked up another rice blind about a mile from my club. He is 21 now and chasing girls and a buzz. Went deer hunting with him earlier in the year, told him about WFF, but I think he has other priorities right now. I will let him know you asked about him, and see if we can get him on.

Good idea, I will send him a text and see if we can get him on here. I could go for seeing what girls are running around Chico.

Gotta love college towns!

It's still pouring up here. There were flood warnings for all the northwestern rivers here last night. I haven't checked the weather forecast this morning yet.
What about you guys down south of the border?

This is a view of one of our flood control weirs. That is flowing water after the Sacramento River came up 22 feet in two days.
