That's only third year plumage. They don't get the nice feathers until year four. Definitely would have been a wall hanger next year.

I wonder if they were shot coming in alone or if they're hanging around with other species of ducks. Maybe living with wood ducks making woodie/mandarin hybrids...

I think they hang around with the woodies if I'm not mistaken it is in the same family as the wood duck but I have yet to see one

Yep it's a mandarin duck I think they are aka Chinese wood duck

Sorry, big foot isn't a hoax.

We have a guy here on base that is an actual no joke truly believes in it big foot hunter. I think he requested this unit because I guess there have been big foot sightings all over the U.P. and Canada. He is putting together a spring scouting trip for them now. Came to me and asked if I would keep my eyes open during this past deer season.

He's a good enough guy. Does his job well, just a little weird.

I don't care. He's endangering The Squatchpedition, and must be neutralized. Proactive, not reactive. Make it happen, Olly. Red can send you some stuff out of the evidence locker if you need it for the setup. Or ask your neighbors.
