Neighbor just got robbed

Postby Olly » Wed Jun 27, 2012 9:06 pm

Yea my crack head neighbor just got robbed. He said someone kicked his door in about an hour ago, I was laying right here on the couch didn't hear a thing. I almost said "did you call the cops for an insurance report" then remembered who I was looking at. One of his druggies came in and saw his sweet PS3 and came back to take it. This is why I installed 3 motion activated lights when I first moved in and extra dead bolts and chains on the doors.

I can't wait to move in a year.

I keep the s&w .357 magnum within reach at all time. My brother walked in on a guy carrying my tv about 2 years ago. Abd I live in a good part of town. Guy drove out from Memphis and was just trying doors. My roommate left my back door unlocked.

I've heard that the best defense against a burglary is a dog barking. The second is a lot of light.

Both make sense. But the dogs were in the kennel and it was noon on a Wednesday. .

I'm lucky my dog likes to bark at random noises. I'll take being woken up once a month for him to ward off anyone snooping around the house.

Both my dogs are barkers now. But it still wouldn't wake me. I sleep hard.

I have dogs. I may or may not have strategically placed items throughout the place, just in case.
My biggest deterrent, for criminals, is that I live in the country.......no one can here them scream....or beg.

Ah shotgun barrels are cheap. But it's a light round. I bet it's not that bad as long you don't light off about 10 and do it a bunch of times in a row to heat it up too much.

I live in a very small town. I hate the city with a passion. Goes it my hatred of most people.

It doesn't get much more backwoods than where I live. My neighbor doesn't own a shirt with sleeves. Stand up guy though.

Part of the reason I am thinking of getting out of the CG is my dream of owning some land in the middle of no where.

Everyone thinks we grow trees in Oregon to build houses and such. You've heard the saying "can't see the forest for the trees", haven't you? Well, some city slicker changed it to that. It used to be "don't worry 'bout thieves, you can't see the dirt mounds for the trees."

I only have an acre. I dream of land that backs up to the Mississippi something fierce. Or maybe even deeper in Arkie. Like I have dreams about it every night.

There's still quite a bit of that left in Arkie. North central & southeast. Hillbillies or rednecks . . . You get to pick your poison in this state. You just wanna avoid east central. That's where the foothills of the Ozarks & Ouachitas meet the Mississippi Aluvial Delta. That means inbred redneck hillbillies, which are the meanest white people on the planet. Rednecks . . . good. Hillbillies . . . good. Cross breeding . . . BAD.

Ha! Just like where my little piece of paradise is at. Northwest corner of the Ozarks pretty much on the Lake of the Ozarks. I know a few hillbillies. A lot of meth heads down there though.
