Posted: Thu Jun 28, 2012 10:02 pmFARMINGTON, N.H. - New Hampshire police said a Farmington man was accidentally shot to death after he tripped and fell while carrying a gun.
Police said 28-year-old Philip McCarthy was unloading his handgun to clean it when he tripped and fell down a flight of stairs, causing the gun to go off, striking him in the head.
Fosters Daily Democrat reported that police were notified of the shooting by McCarthy's girlfriend Monday evening.
