Antivirus software?

what is everyone using? i have mcafee but it's about to expire. anyone use norton antivirus?

I just use a Mac. To my knowledge it doesn't have antivirus.

Sorry, UNIX which is what Mac is based off of had the featest rate of malware growth in 2011 because everyone is buying a Mac.

Nothing really. They have antivirus for Mac but you prolly won't need it for a while. The UNIX system itself makes it hard for viruses and malware to replicate. However just be aware that your Mac isn't virus proof.

Staying away from shady websites, and not clicking on links inside email spam are two of the smartest things anyone can do.

This. Used to have mcafee. It was good but had too many bells and whistles I never used.

Bufflehead- I used that for awhile and the computer crashed last year, lost everything. Installed Windows 7 and tried to stay all microsoft and used Miicrosoft Security Essentials to ensure compatibility and it seems to be workling, it is also free. Sounds like AVG is working for you now but another option.
