two questions, when they tax the hell out of all the companies providing jobs to the few americans who do want to work, and send them out of business where is the money going to come from to pay everyones welfare check?
secondly.. just what the hell has happened to this country? why are people so worthless?
We just fired a 21 yr old kid this morning bc he refuses to work. He was supposed to work half days for a few weeks and then start working full time, never started working full time. Yesterday he was told he needed to stay all day (6am-3pm) (mind you i stay until 5 or 6pm every day and only have two days off every 12 days. this guy got every weeknd off) bc one of our guys got deported. He came in at 1pm and said he was wore out and needed to go home... today he has no job bc sorry asses are not welcome here....people today are just plain worthless. rant over.

xabillion.
I don't blame politicians, nor the president. We get exactly what we deserve in this country, which is both a beautiful and an ugly thing. Politicians don't "do" anything we don't allow them to do, primarily by reelecting them, or not being smart enough to think longer term. This is most evident in the stats for Congress' approval rating. I don't have links, but you can look it up- overall, the congressional approval rating is something like 12%. But at the same time, you'd be hard pressed to find any individual congressman with an individual approval rating below about 50%. It's always "the other guy", even when it comes to congress, and people are too stupid to realize what that type of thinking means. In their defense, congressmen aren't really SUPPOSED to care about anything besides their home districts. It's all well and good to say "but they're supposed to care about America". True, but they are supposed to care on more of a "communities make up the whole" idea, rather than an overwhelming concern about the country as a whole. If all the parts are healthy, the whole will be healthy as well.
But it's turned into a selfish, power-hungry grab for all they can get their hands on, and we have allowed it by allowing so much power to be centralized in DC. That was never the intent. Power is supposed to be local, and until fairly recently (well, 100 years ago, anyway) Senators were appointed by state legislators, making them accountable to the states, rather than the electorate as a whole. The only way that govt can have the power they have is if we let them, and we did. They didn't "take" a damn thing. We have just turned weak, and care more for simple perceived comforts like cable TV and a microwave. I'm not advocating some return to gunning people down in the street and caring for yourself over all others, not by any stretch. But our attention span has grown so short as a nation that it actually has become harmful. Things NEED to be thought over, tough decisions NEED to be made regarding long term consequences, but our population simply doesn't have the capacity to do that anymore. And that is what will kill us. I think we all, even those of us without families here, understand what it means to put things off, to delay gratification until all the necessities are taken care of. I willingly put in long hours in the garden and hunting (yes, I enjoy these things) because they help my family. I don't run around like a sailor on leave blowing through money, and I understand that the reason I have 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of jeans, and some beat up t-shirts is so that my family can have more, and that if, God forbid, something bad would happen to me, they would have a better chance.
I'm called cheap, and I'm ok with that, because I do it for a reason. It's time for the govt to do the same. Why is it that I turn my AC off when my family isn't home, in order to cut down on the electric bill, but someone else will leave it running 24/7? Because I'm paying for it, that's why. And this same mentality runs all through most things. This country needs a fundamental change, not something new, but a reversion to what it was intended to be originally. Life isn't easy- nobody ever said it was. But in order to grab power via votes and money, government has now decided that it is their responsibility to make it "easy", without regard for those who are footing the bill. This doesn't just apply to welfare fraud and such, it applies to billions of dollars going overseas, to people who hate us, and who will never like us, regardless of how much money is spent. It applies to excessive regulations, which make it damn near impossible for someone to start and run a business, while at the same time requiring nothing of those who leech off of their efforts. It applies to every man, woman, and child who work or try to work, in order to fund all of this nonsense.
Frankly, it's a slap in the face. And we let it go. Why? It goes back to what I said earlier- ridiculously short attention spans, perceived ease of life, and a whole lot of stupid.
Rant over.
