Put back in the same place I did before Christmas and had an unexpected day.

Plenty of birds around but I've been hearing this areas been gettin sculled heavy. Sculled two different groups of wary widgeon who wouldn't play with me. But I still managed three gadwall, two spoonies and my prize for the day...

...two oldsquaw. Very rare in these parts. I can hunt Humboldt the rest of my life and never see one again. Was under a mile from the end of my hunt and alittle frustrated I might not finish my limit. I saw two white birds off to my left about 100 yards out. Glassed em and thought "holy shit!" Dropped down and started my scull. Got within 20 yards and dropped em both. Definitely birds I wasn't expecting to see today.

Cripped this little guy and he just sat here and watched me

Congrats on the squaws. We've been seeing a lot more of them being shot in Oregon this year too. There must have been a major hatch this past season. Clydes friend shot one just a couple weeks ago too.

You could have killed them just as dead and not messed them up so bad if you were shooting 7.5's.

Nice hunt!

You're out of control Red.

I'm sick of CA. Too many different types of birds. Nice shooting though. I can't shoot well from a seated position.

I'm really liking that scull boat, who makes that? I use a kayak as a sneak boat but Olly and Flintfowler both don't appreciate the yak like I do.
