Went to get a coffee. Mr Swag Hat was two people in front of me. Here's as much as I remember:
Half dozen Krispy Kreme donuts
2 Snickers
4 bags of Kettle chips
2 bags of sour patch kids
1 gallon milk
1 red bull
All on the EBT card. But he did have to pay $4 cash for his dozen hot wings.
Motherfucker. That's all I've got to say. We are sooooooo fucked.

Cash for the hot wings is a nice touch, around here they peel a couple twenties off the stack to pay for the Hennessy and menthols.

i was just in one of the new shops. i havent heard of this but i will look into it when i get back home.
i cant see them allowing it at the legal recreational shops. but colorado is pretty left wing and can see them allowing it and the medical pot stores

What it turns out is that the ATM machines in the pot shops will accept EBT cards for cash, and they want to stop that. So technically, they're not buying weed with food stamps.
Although why getting cash from the damn card is even an option is beyond me. Should go back to those big ass colorful booklets of actual stamps. Fuck their self esteem.

They can get cash off of those cards? How is getting cash to buy the weed any different than the guy you saw have to pay cash for his wings? Why didn't he take out the cash then buy them too?
I guess I just don't get it.

I don't get it either. Some states (not all, mind you) have it set up that the Cards won't work at ATM machines in strip clubs and casinos, but that's about it.
I think the cash withdrawals are for other programs. I'm not sure, but I think they get one card. Then if they get food stamps, cash assistance, WIC, whatever, it all goes on the same card. If someone just has food stamp money on the card, I don't think they can withdraw that from an ATM. I certainly fuckibg hope not.
The whole thing is just a load of ass.

When I was an E5 and my wife was not working we qualified for food stamps and WIC. Never tool any of it but it was available to us.

I used food stamps for three weeks when our daughter was born. Used the food bank and got help with our power bill too. Trading my babies food for weed, never occurred to me.
I got a job and hit the ground running.

I've got the cars, boats, snowmobiles, decoys, blinds and errything already paid for...
I don't need much anymore, and I can do work under the table and not have to deal with al the damn regulations....

I believe any enlisted has at least WICc available to them during the pregnancy. The couple i lived with there for a while got it and they were extremely well off.
