Nice shoot

Last day for duck/goose went pretty nice today. Our speck snow late season is actually open already but they haven't really showed up yet, probably won't chase them for about a month. Made goose breakfast burritos in the pit again by request. The geese weren't really moving but we had a pair work in nice and the 3 of us dropped them onto the ice. Around 11:00 they both decided to pack it in, and I wanted to hang out. Couldn't have been 10 minutes after they left I heard a cluck, didnt bother to call back because they were on a string, let them (almost) land in the decoys before I stood up. 3 shots and they were down. Its always nice to finish on a good note.

Ya she was whimpering in the safe so I let her out to bark.
Only thing is, all of today's shots could have been made with a lot less shell.

Dont they shoot plenty in peanut fields in Texas somewhere? Probably nowhere near the coast I guess though.

Texas has some great goose hunting, just not around here on the coast. I can't make myself get up early enough to drive two hours to kill perhaps 3-4 geese and hunt with 8-10 other guys who think that they shot the goose you killed and have to put out and pick up a couple hundred decoys (each) too.
I tried goose hunting for the first two years I lived here, too much work, too much driving and too little rewards.

Nice!
We have a lot of Canada geese here but can't shoot them in this "hunt zone".
