Ok, here's the deal. My electrical problem was a burned up breaker. Little did I know (until it tripped) that there were 4 heaters, well pump, fence charger, and a couple lights all on the "barn" circuit from the house. On about a 200 foot run of 12/2.

So my solution was to unplug 4500 of the 5500 watts which were plugged in. Tomorrow I'm going to run a sub panel in the barn from the shop, which has it's own 200 amp service, with plenty of room. Barns only about 50 feet from the shop, so I'm running 8/2 for a 40 amp box in the barn, leaving the pump house on the circuit from the house by itself.

Here's where I need the ruling. The wife was bitching and harping, you need to find the water lines, you need to find the electrical lines, you need, you need, you need, when I was talking about the trench. I was getting frustrated, and the words "I know where that shit is. This ain't my firs...." before I realized just what the hell I was saying, and stopped.

My question is, did I jinx myself by even letting that much out, dooming myself to hitting a water love at the same instant I hit an unknown, out of place, wandering electric line? Shorting out the house, and sending me to the hospital? Or do you think I'm alright?

you'll find that one line that someone forgot about, i'll almost guarantee it. of course it will also be the one that needs to be totally pulled out and replaced to fix it.
