Posted this in the calling section and was directed here so I'm looking at getting a new goose call. I want to get either a GK or Tim Grounds call. I'm in between a GK Comp Slayer for $100, TG Super Mag for $105, TG Super Mag Pro for $120, and a TG Real Thang for $105. I know Tim Ground calls are known to be the best but I listened to them on the internet and honestly I like the GK the best but it's the cheapest one and almost everybody seems to like TG calls so I feel like I'm missing something in them. Any suggestions or experience with these calls would be great, thanks! And I wish I could try before I buy but I don't have a choice unfortunately.

Lots of good goose calls out there. As was suggested in the other post, try some out if possible.
I know there is one guy on this forum that has a secret (sexual?) relationship with the GK guys, and will point you in that direction.
I've heard nothing but good things about Gander Valley Custom Calls...

My gk Canuck is a pretty solid call. I tried a tg triple crown or something like that, and I liked it, but I'm not shelling out that kind of money for a call. Tried a tg overhauler I think, and didn't like it

These don't answer the OP's question but I agree with them. You'll find this message board or that leans this way or that, often depending more on what others there are saying than real experience, but everyone's physiology, methodology and preferences differ, so one man's "best" may be bogus for the next.
(I've owned more Canada calls than remotely reasonable and settled on Gander Valley's XXX - but that doesn't mean you should do either.)

Just to prove Rick's point, I'm not a fan of GVCC To me, they take too much air to blow and are a bit high pitched for my taste. Of the two you mentioned, I've only had experience with the GK Canuck, and liked it quite a bit. But everyone is different.
That being said, I now have a Bay Country Shore Thing, and it's hands down the favorite call I've ever had. Also something to keep in mind, there's really no reason to buy new. There are tons of calls for very reasonable prices out there.

Indeed. Makes me wonder which GVCC you tried, as one of the reasons I favor the XXX is how easy it is to cluck incessantly like a madman for long periods. And would you like to buy my Canuck?

No way That Shore Thing isn't going to be replaced any time soon. As for the GVCC, I've had the PCS and have tried the Powerhouse. Both made me feel like I was hyperventilating in short order, and while the powerhouse was a bit deeper, I still found it to high pitched, at least in my hands.

I can tune a duck call, any duck call. I can fuck up a goose call quick. Someone write a thread on how to tune one right...take the mystery out of it.

This one's always worked well for me.
And the guy may rub a lot of people the wrong way, but he can blow a goose call.

My dog and my dads dog just stared at me while I was watching that, then started jumping at the door when it was over.

Don't know that it says pecans about their calls; Hunter Grounds could make a tube sock sound like a goose.
