On my way into work today, I saw three different combines harvesting corn. There was one field cut this past Saturday. Anyone else in the fields this early??

Everything around here is being cut for silage, started a month ago in some areas. Hoping to find a few areas where something will be harvested.

I'd rather see it cut early than just fully disked (disced? SP?) under.

I prefer to see it mowed.

Our spring cut was early. Now that we've had this dry weather everything is back on time if not late.

It's been raining like a bastard here the last couple weeks. Too late for corn, but the bean farmers are licking their chops!

Most everything from me to you isnt looking good as far as corn. South of me holds some of the best crops Ive seen in a while. The beans got some rain here just in time.

From me up to about Dover is burnt to a crisp. But there are some nice looking beans, and at $16 a bushel, they could make up for the corn beating. (Although $9 corn and nothing in the field is making them cry the blues)

Our wheat was pretty good, corn is fried, out west irrigated corn didn't even make it. Been having a few small rains lately, just enough to hopefully salvage the beans, a bad year for crop insurance around here.
