Pretty simple ron. The earth tilts toward the sun, sun stays up longer bc of the angle. Longer days, shorter nights. When did you drop out of school? 3rd grade?

True, but our only reprieve from the 115 degree heat here is very early in the morning. It continues to get hotter until the sun goes all the way down. So we would be using more energy ie cooling, into the night as opposed to in the morning.
