Daylight savings begins tonight.
Don't forget to spring forward (except for maybe you gila, apparently some parts of your state don't participate in dst)
Always funny to see people who show up to church an hour late though.
I for one have always loved the longer days.

Pretty simple ron. The earth tilts toward the sun, sun stays up longer bc of the angle. Longer days, shorter nights. When did you drop out of school? 3rd grade?

To clarify before you all go trying to be a bunch of literal dick heads I'm not talking about a 24 hour calendar day. In talking about day time vs night time.

I heard there were 25 hours a day in Michigan, to give its residents more time to suck their farts out of champagne glasses.

It reall does just move sunrise back an hour and sun set is an hour later. Which what is time anyways?

My boss was telling me we got reprieve from it because it's so hot. If we participated the sun would be out until 9pm in the summer instead of 8

BUUUT it's still the same amount of sunlight.
At the longest part of the year here the sun sets a little after 9pm.

True, but our only reprieve from the 115 degree heat here is very early in the morning. It continues to get hotter until the sun goes all the way down. So we would be using more energy ie cooling, into the night as opposed to in the morning.

I see. US territories like the USVI don't do it either. The sun comes up at like 5 am down there.

I have several clocks around the homestead that are an hour ahead half the year, mostly just due to laziness to change them, then change them again in 6 months.

Same here. My alarm clock by my bed has been an hour forward since last fall. Keeps you on your toes to wake up thinking you're late every morning.

I'm in church pretty much every Sunday.... Must be a southern thing. Which makes sense since God is from the south.
