Ok, I'm making a predator caller. While it may not matter, and if it doesn't work I can just switch them, I'd rather try and make it right.
I've got this plug:

Going on the end of a piece of speaker wire, the other end if which will be attached to this:

So my question is, which terminal in the first pic is positive- the short one that goes to the pin, or the long one that goes to the metal threads? I'm going to solder them, and would just as soon not have to redo them.
Thank you.

EDIT
IF the longer one is grounded to the threads it's 100% the GND and the smaller one will be the +V

Ok. Worst case, I do them wrong- will the speaker just not work until I switch them, or will it blow the fuck up? Or will it work half-assedly?

If the longer tab is physically connected to the threads that's the GND for sure. Made that way so if you install the plug into a metal chassis it will ground out.

Ok, that makes me feel better- the longer plug turns into the threads, almost like a pocket clip on a pen.
Off to the shop to dig out my soldering iron.

I thought about it.
Couldn't find my soldering iron, so used this:

Predator call is done. $39 at Radio Shack, 10% off coupon, and a free app for the phone. Works like a charm. Gotta paint it tomorrow, then maybe go out tomorrow evening to try it.

I KNEW there was a fucking thread here somewhere. I searched "predator" and "caller", and got nothing. But the video on Youtube had most of the same parts.
I only got the mini amp, horn, and 1 plug. All the other stuff I had laying around. But I'm not putting mine in a box. I've got the horn on 75' of speaker wire, and will keep my phone and the amp at the end with me, so I can control the volume and call without going near the speaker. This is all of mine, minus the male/male cord going from the phone to the amp. That's in the Jeep, where I plug into my radio. Can't wait to try it.

It's a damn sticky haha
I liked just leaving the box out there in the field turn the volume up and let her fly. I never had any success with mine but the crying baby sound sure is freaky to hear in the field.

Hell no! Not starting that up again. They just finally ran out of steam with the "Everything is Awesome" song from the Lego movie. Heard both of those enough times already!

Assa, I don't know if you planned on it or not, but I HIGHLY suggest trying calling coons. It's a fucking riot when it works. and at the very least, if there is a coon in the area he will stick his head out and take a look at it. But when it does work, those fuckers charge the caller with reckless abandon, so much so that I'm thinking about switching from my .17 because it may not be fast enough for follow up shots.

It took me about a second. But after that, the laughter was raucous.

I guess cottontail distress would be more politically correct.
