10 years of eBaying and I finally got bit in the ass. I bought a Ham radio off there and upon setting it up I realized that it was not producing full power on all the bands. I asked the seller to please call me ASAP and he did. The phone call quickly went south and after being SCREAMED at by a man claiming that "I've been a fucking cop for 17 years and I'm tired of scammers like you, you go ahead and file a claim and see if you ever see one damn cent of your money ever again". I have filed a claim with eBay. I doubt I will get my money back though.
10 years and this is the first time I have ever been ripped off.

How much does some thing like a ham radio cost? Not that it matters cause getting ripped off (for any amount) chaps my ass. I'm pretty leery about buying anything used that doesn't have an inspection/return policy.

We have spoke on the phone twice now. Both times with him screaming at the top of his lungs at me.
BUT!!!!!!! I just got him to cave and he just offered through the eBay resolution center (so it's documented) to refund my money if I returned the radio!!!!!!!! I'm very pleased with the events that unfolded much to my surprise I stayed very calm while being yelled at and threatened by this fine officer of the law up in the great state of Ohio and it all worked out in the end.

He just issued a full refund to me! This goes to show that if you're in the right and you hold your course justice will prevail. All it took was me continuing to say "no I think we should let eBay handle it". This man is not a happy camper I wish I could have recorded the phone calls.

Just dropped the radio off at UPS and I casually mentioned to the girl behind the counter a short version of the story and that the guy was probably going to claim the insurance on the other side and she noted that it wasn't working in the comments for the insurance I bought and said he couldn't claim insurance on it now and scam UPS out of money.
That guy is going to come murder me now.
