i dont think my eye are good enough for 80 yards anymore.getting older sucks ass
we will have large round hay bale blinds and others (maybe) cow side profiles

Judging from your post....you're probably gonna want to shoot at the slow goats and leave the speed goats to the young guys.

Have a fun hunt.

Better dial in your 50 and 60 yd pins. I've never goat hunted but the guys I know that do in oregon are most successful sitting in a ground on a water hole. Just sitting. All day. Waiting.

From a desert rat standpoint I will second the waterhole advice. As far as the distance shooting I don't know jack about bow shooting so just out hunt em. Step up the patience and dedication. Good luck man.

Get a good range finder and set your pins as far out as you can accurately shoot

Get a good rifle and forget the bow.

Hey one2many, have you considered using a recurve or a long bow since these goats are so nimble and you'll just miss anyways?

Use a rifle, so you can get it over with quickly and get back to bird hunting! :tk:

thanks for all the tips guys.
water holes are a must but i been told if it has rained recently every cow hoof print hold water for the pronghorns.
tried last night to shoot 80 yards that shit isnt for me 50 yards max, and more comfortable 40 yards in. could make for a long hunt :(
if i could use a rifle i would. im sure RMFC has a load worked up for them i could use

That's good to hear, I'm still not holding out much hope for here. Even if things go well, not many birds left to produce. As you've also seen, weather can be a real bitch.

You can borrow my .25-06. It will touch them out to 800 and dump 'em with the 115 Berger.

It is possible to stalk within 40 yards. I've done it.
The best method is get a doe tag. Hunt during the rut. Shoot a doe being tended by a buck. Then stand twenty yards from the bitch and knock an arrow. He will present a shot ;)

you might also target where they cross under fences, it's easy to see and they are pretty habitual about where they cross.

Here you go, this is probably easier and cheaper.
http://buyexoticmeats.com/antelope.html

Stay home, pack another bowl (or two) and have it delivered.

Never hunted them, so this is the only advice I can give you, good luck with whatever you choose.

Are antelope color blind? If so paint your bison up to be blue or red, problem solved. Damn, I seem to have a lot of good advice about antelope hunting!
