I'm just glad the week's about over...
I caught the tail end of one show this week, but I couldn't find it again.

A ship was capsized and the survivors were stuck in it breathing the air inside the capsized boat? (I think)
And they were lowering a shark cage down and hoisting the survivors up...
All the while a shark was NAILING that cage!!

Anyone catch that one? (hoping it wasn't one of the fake ones)

You'd need a bigger boat.

I know the lakes aren't the ocean, and trout and salmon aren't 50' sharks. The lake boat I worked on, the W.W. Holloway, wasn't big enough for that shit.

my grandfather used to tell a story about how they caught a monster shark of the galapagos islands using a coal pail (or something like that) handles machined into a hook, a bunk chain for leader and the deck wentch with a goat as bait. (ww2, he was the chief torpedoman on a sub) . said the shark was so large that it nearly burned the wentch up, and was almost the lenght of the boat. they shot it with a thompson and cleaned it. said a few days later the hooked an even larger one, and got it to the boat, but it snapped the cable before they could shoot it.

now he may have exaggarated, but he was always a very avid fisherman and was not one to embellish. take a BIG damn shark to eat a goat in one bite. (the were gonna eat the goats, but supposedly they stank so fuckin bad, no one wanted to butcher em.)
