I have my first game of the season tomorrow. I am juiced. It is an away game about 1 hour 45 minutes away. We should do pretty good.

What position do you play? Good luck, I always wished I had played some kind of HS sport.

I used to be a linebacker, not anymore. It depends on what defense we are running. On our goal line 5 man front I am starting strong side D-Tackle, on our normal 4 man front I am starting at weak side defensive end. On offensive line, I am 2nd string everything but center.

We started a week ago. Beat lake Travis and got revenge from the 2011 state champ. game.

We lost, 28 to 6. We had 395 rushing yards, and 132 passing yards, and held them to 35 rushing yards and 97 passing, but we had 175 yards in penalties. We had 3 "holding" calls on our QB, a bunch of penalties for "spearing" a couple false starts, and various others. I witnessed 5 times when the other team passed the ball, the ball bounced off the ground before going in the receiver's hands, and they called it a catch, one of which resulted in a touchdown. There was another play where our receiver caught the ball in the air, was hit and the ball knocked out of his hands, all before he hit the ground, and the play was ruled fumble and run back for a TD. Another one of their touchdowns, we held them until 3rd and 10 on the 18 yard line, we stopped them, and got a spearing penalty. They made a touchdown from the 3 the next play.

I WAS Mistaken on the yards they got, we held them to that much the first half. Total, they had 47 rushing and 169 passing.

It's impossible to rush for 400 yards and lose a football game. It can't be done, mathematically.

Unless you lose about 9 fumbles, in the red zone.

Well according to our stats keeper, we had 395 rushing, so it happened. I Believe we had 6 total fumbles.

Won our game last night 27-18. We shot down there run game so they stopped running entirely the second half. We finished with 5 picks, 2 of them for TDs.

These are not scores that should be like you describe them. No one shuts down a teams run game and takes two pick 6's and only wins by 9 points.

First pick 6 was at the 15, quick little run into the end zone, second one was late in the 3rd quarter, they were about to score, but we have an amazing safety (by far the best athlete on our team) who made an amazing play on the ball and ran it back 80 yards. A lot of mistakes were made on offense, and the other team had a pretty good defense as well, so we only scored on them twice there. They burnt our corner deep twice, one resulted in a td pass, and the other put them on the 5 where they ultimately scored. The other TD, their D end picked the ball of on the 20 and was tackled, they started their drive from the 20 and scored.
