No, I put all sorts of stuff in my "chili". Just saying that, technically speaking, it's not "authentic" if it has anything besides beans and spices. Mine has beans, meat, spices, some peppers, and some green olives. The green olives are the ticket. I cut them on half only- you don't want a bunch of small pieces in every bite, just the occasional bite with a green olive in it.

I'm in Illinois and we fake it. Due to intense political corruption we have to use non-authentic chili ingredients.

Try adding about 10 green olives, cut in half, in your next batch. unless you don't like green olives. Then this would be a terrible idea. And for the record, my chili is "fake", too. I make it how I like it, and Mexico be damned.

Who doesnt like olives?
Black, green, whatevah. Anything is good in chili...even rice.
Have had many variations and its hard to fuck up chili no matter what you do.
Try sweetcorn in there...

And to further muddy the waters, I prefer my chili over spaghetti noodles. Effing fantastic.

I don't like green olives.
Chili has meat, tomatoes and beans.

I'll be damned. Learned two things- Cincinnati style chili, and Manhattans aren't just a nasty drink.

I'd never heard of Manhattans in any other context than as a cocktail either.

I'm really bored today. Waiting around for 5:00 to have my little girls bday party at the pizza place.
We did take the duck boat out and go swimming yesterday though.

Used to live in Long Beach. My early morning 3am drives to work....usually I had to stop and pull over at least once to let some drunk have all six lanes of the freeway. Red, I dont envy your job at all.
