So I need to build a shed to have a place to store my wife's stuff, and get the garage back.
Have any of you built a shed from a kit that they would recommend? Or maybe one of the professionals on here have plans of some sort that might save me some time...
I'm thinking something like this. 16 x 12 (maybe a bit smaller, and without a bunch of windows)

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Building materials are insanely expensive.

Buy a used conex box to your desired dimension and paint it so it looks cool as hell. The only work will be in the painting and you will save some dough.

Hmmm. I'm trying to keep away from removing a fence to get the shed in, but I'll keep that one in my back pocket...

Instead of a shed to store your wife's shit in, how about a shop for you and her shit can stay in the garage or go to the attic.

Thought about that, but I don't think I could get started on a shop for $2k.

To give you and idea...years ago, in the 90's my wife and I built a 10x12' shed that looked like a tiny little barn. It sat on railroad ties I dug into the dirt like a foundation sort of. Had a 2x8 floor system with 3/4 t&g plywood (not OSB). Framed the walls n roof with wood we reclaimed (free) It had plywood vertical siding that I stained with exterior stain. I used architectural shingles on the roof. By the time we were done it was over $900 for that including the hardware for the doors and the stain. $7.50/sq. foot. (free labor)
I think you could build your shed for around $3k if you do all the work and haul all the materials yourself.
We built it in two days and the whole neighborhood was amazed.
I'm in East-central Illinois. (champaign) He's probably 100-150 miles away. The last storage shed I built was about 5 years ago and was similar to what he wants. It was approximately $5k including my labor. I think his is a bit larger than that. You can get a garage built for about the same amount of cash. I'd do that.
Jehler, AT, and I could all build this thing in our sleep. Ain't that hard a project.

I found a kit at HD for about $1,800 that I think I'm going to go with. Doesn't come with a floor, hardware, or shingles.
Although I haven't built something of this size, I'm not too worried about it. I think a monkey could build a better shed than the one pictured above.
I was more or less hoping that one of the professionals had plans for a shed that would allow me to purchase all of the materials on my own, rather than a kit. I'm sure that I could save a few bucks by getting the materials on my own.
Thanks for the input!
