What is best? In the last few weeks I have seen everything from guy standing out in the open to blinds that would hide a pink Cadillac. Full face paint to no face paint. I was always told to break up you silhouette with something behind you.

Being still is more important than camo. When ducks are coming in they are focused on the spread but if you move it's like a flash of light to them then it takes their focus and will flare them.

Using natural cover to blend in with your surroundings will take you much further than any camo pattern.

A good blind doesn't just hide its hunters, it hides itself by not looking like the last however many places that erupted in gunfire.

And the most common criticism I could offer about the folks who've shared my commercial blinds is that they seem to think that either being in a blind makes them invisible or the birds are blind.

Actually, you need to grow a beard and paint your face if you ever expect to shoot any ducks. Another thing, a good duck call will offset any mistakes in camouflage. If you don't have a good call and haven't grown a beard or painted your face, a barrel sticker will cover up a multitude of other mistakes.

You don't have to thank me, this information is published as a public service.

Hahaha. I don't think the Navy will be big on the beard. Halloween happened months ago so you won't find me wearing face paint.

Face paint or a mask is a must IMO. No joke. I put face paint on my entire face any time I'm hunting puddle ducks.

This, and.......
And when possible, set up with the sun (and preferably the wind) at your back. Being in the shadow of your blind keeps your face and hands from shining like a light bulb, and you shouldn't have to worry about getting blinded by the sun when shooting.

Anybody catch the DD season finale last night? That pink shirt on their uncle was visible from a mile away.
