Always hear a 10 gauge in the marsh somewhere and wondered how many guys carry them.
Had one once and when I looked at a box of steel shells for it...put it down real quick.

I predict the twelve bore will reign supreme

I use both a 10 and 12. But the 10 is much better for waterfowl.

Shells cost about the same for 10s and 12s. Only difference is a couple bucks unless you shoot the cheap stuff and then the gap opens to about $8.

I shoot a 12 for ducks and geese but for some reason I really want to start shooting a 20 for ducks.

Moved to the shotgun forum, it could use some love.

I am going to try my hand at shooting a Browning BPS 10 gauge for geese. Bought a single box and if it does a better job I will shoot it exclusively.

I like to bring out the 10 gauge for a good no nonsense goose goose hunt. I usually let the other guys tickle them with their 12's and then clean up with the 10.

Might just be the 10 that I use (old SxS, made in spain, maker unknown) but cheap factory loads will knock them dead at 60 yards.

I have one just like that. 32" barrels and heavy but it will knock em dead.

I really want a semi 10 gauge, but I'm too cheap to lay the cash down for one.

Hunting ducks with a 20 is lots of fun! A few of the clubs here are 20 only clubs.

Had a feeling it was close to ten percent. We'll see how it goes after the thread stays up a while.
I'm a wittle fellar so ten gauge ain't happenin'.
Shot one once. Was a side by side and WOW. Once was enough.

12 gauge for everything from woodcock to geese and turkey.

I shoot 12 most of the time, but sometimes I just like to see the destruction and hear the boom of my 10!!!

I use a 12 for ducks and 10 for geese for the most part. I'll take out the 16, 20, or 28 during teal season and if I'm hitting a wood duck hole.

I voted 12 as the poll stated ducks and geese, and although i carry a ten most of the time i don't take it duck hunting.

On most occasions that I kill a goose, I'm wearing my underwear and toting that 10 gauge. It usually happens while I'm making pancakes or watching the price is right. See them coming, run out to the garage, grab old two pipes,get under them, aim two birds in front of the goose you want to kill. It's beautiful I tell you. I do the same thing but with a 12-gauge and Brileys EXR extended range choke tube. It IS a beautiful thing when the whole flock goes HEY...that ain't spose to happen and freaks.

I shoot snows and specks. They die considerably easier than Canadians do.

Only being differnce being I'm at home, not the middle of bayou meto.

I was talking about when I stayed at the farmhouse. There was a shed with a row of short pines behind it...heh heh heh.
Yeap. Blasted some snows while cooking barbeque under the shed. I'd hear 'em coming, sneak around back and pop a couple beers , errr snows.

12 for everything. Don't own a 10 but after last weekend I want one for snows.

I shot a lot of ducks with my 20-gauge. Geese as well.

I use a 16 on occasion, I reload them myself.

Allmost as good is back yard pass shooting of geese....just saying

My cousin has a 12 AND a 20 gauge M2 for shooting geese; I have seen him use both to kill both.

He don't need no stinking 10!

I love using my 20 for ducks.

Any of you guys ever try shooting some mallards or sprigs with a .410? Done it a few times, but man do you have to be close
