Get yourself one or two of those dog proof traps. Coons are alive, held by the wrist, and it's very, very difficult for a cat to get caught it one. I've only ever caught one cat, a gray fox, and a possum in them- other than that, all coons.

If you want, I'll send you one to try. Just drop in a big marshmallow, set it, dribble on some vanilla extract and you're good to go. The vanilla extract is a Jr. Special, and it works like a charm. Cats hate sweet stuff.

I order all my stuff from blueridgeoutdoorsupplies.com Ships super fast, but seriously, I'll send you one or two to try. I won't need them until around Christmas, and even then I may not. Coons aren't going to be worth a shit this year, so I probably won target them at all.

i havent keep a coon in years let one of the old boy that runs hounds with me have them all. i remember when i was young you could make a little money off them and pay for all the dog food and gear. just not worth it anymore but there is no better sound then a hound on a trail

Duke dp's work well for most folks but I've also heard that the diablo dp's aren't bad for the money either. $100 for a dozen. Check out fnt trading post. They tend to have good prices on a lot of their stuff and they are nice to deal with.

i wondered about y'all when we were there. Was a good time, if a guy really needed to stock up on supplies that would be the place to do it
