Any chasing, or just pointing?

He's not sure what to make of them yet, honestly. He's far from chasing- he sees them, and will creep on them a couple steps, then stop and point. He wants no part of getting anywhere near them- 10 feet is about his limit at this point. Although in his defense, if I saw what (to him) is an 11 foot tall chicken, I'm not going near that bastard, either.

Not sure if it's bad or not, but I'm kind of using it as "whoa" training. I know that comes later, but when he stops and locks up, I tell him "whoa", and praise him for it. We'll see. Sort of an extra, at this point.

Use every chance possible to start teaching. That is not hunting, it's basic obedience. Before 9 weeks I was using feeding time to train whoa. He had to wait to be released. I also threw pieces of food in the yard and told him to find it. Makes them start using their nose.

He's out of Rock Ridge Kennels in Wisconsin. The breeder seems more interested in producing good hunters than conformation agility, etc. Really got lucky with him.
