Why? Can't be worse than Carlyle Lake here.
That lake is avg. 5' deep and has miles of open water. 15 mph winds and sirens will sound. That means get off, get off, get off the lake or you will die!

Hard to imagine but yes...Carlyle will kill you with a quickness. Many have died.

Betty, what lake or impoundment is just south of Peoria?

I was down there camping in the state forest a few weeks ago. drove by some water that was looking pretty snarly and it wasn't that windy.

Coffee County Lake is the same here, shuts down over 15 or 20 mph winds. Quite a few have died there, it is a cooling lake for a nuke power plant, it has a current and stays open in winter. Awesome fishing though. John Redmond reservoir averages 6' deep, north or south winds make it rougher than shit, 3 hunters were killed there last year, dumasses.

There's The Banner Marsh and Rice Lake. Other side of river has Sanganois and Crane Lake.
Were you on east side or west side of the river?

Clinton Lake is small but SW winds make it hell. Ask FF.

Actually, Wyoming.
