How about some help figuring out what kind of documents I need to hunt at Horicon.
Illinois resident.
I heard its only $44 for my license. Does that include a Wisconsin state waterfowl stamp if there is one?
Is there any special permit for Horicon or how is access controlled?

You'll have to buy a state stamp, I know the majority of the Horicon is refuge so you'll just have to be sure and know the boundaries. Fortunately, Wisconsin doesn't have any BS lottery system so you can hunt anywhere anytime. I'm not sure what the motor regulations are for the marsh, it may be non motorized only. I'll dig up some info for you quick. To shoot geese you need a special Horicon permit too which is like three bucks for residents, not sure about you.

Are there a lot of walk in or paddling options? I'm going to try to spend a day up there this summer to get a lay (or part) of the land...

I've personally never been but from what I hear from other people there is.

Let me know when you are heading up, if I'm not working i'll go paddle around. Only 40 minutes from me.

Should I join in on this adventure? Same distance for me. I'm kind of curious and wouldn't mind exploring the marsh.

Weekdays are sometimes good for me. I don't know anything until it happens. Only breaks we get are holes in the schedule that we wish were full.

Would be a ball, though, if we can make it work.
