No way. Fishing is just for fun for me. I have enough activities that I spend too much money on, and can't get enough of. Don't need to add tournament fishing to the list!

If you fished like me it would be expensive. I use $15 just getting to the ramp. The rig I use most times for stripers is $2.00 but if I'm using lures they can be anywhere from $5 to $15.. Guys who use minnows will spend $15 for a dozen jumbos. Salmon flat fish a $6-$8 a piece and spinners will run you $5 a piece. Factor in fuel food and boat upkeep and its expensive.

I understand the expense for game fish, as well as tournament fishing. But for the regular guy that does some rec. fishing, there isn't much too it...I have a few hundo in tackle and gear, but nothing like you guys.

I think I have a problem

Nah...it's just what you do. I've blown a lot of time and money on hobbies without the prize of a meal. Might be a little crazy, but I don't see a problem.

I think this is where something clever about tapatalk should go.

Mines not spoons but I'm with on you, well over a grand in each type of lure. I'd hate to know my total investment in fishing.

Well maybe not well over in each type of lure, over some pretty close to it in others.

That's not even that much from what I have seen on the south end... I was on a boat a few weeks ago with well over 1000 spoons ($7 per), half that in flies, nearly every color in every size of both slide and dipsy divers, and 15 planar boards (which makes no sense, he could run 8 at a time), that was what he brought out of his second bedroom (on the boat) which from what I saw was packed full.

He probably had $20,000 in gear.

Y'all want to look at the old tackle box I found in a storage unit?
Some really cool old stuff in it like a Fish-De-Liar.
Ever seen one?

Nope, It's one of Kelly's mini mag mallard calls. Thing is surprisingly loud.

Its got its own sound. I'm not going to toss out my lanyard for them but I do like it. Just trying to change techniques is a pain at the moment.

Mine sounded really good when you hit your air just right. But when my RNT's sounded just as good, to my ear, with minimal effort to run the lares got dumped.

That's what I am trying to do. Kinda sounds flat when you grunt into it but I may be hearing things.
