They're helpful, but they'll never turn a deer round into a beef tender chuck, aka: "Spencer," roast. We don't eat a lot of deer roast because they're so inherently dry, and when we do, I always make plenty of juice/gravy to ladle over it.

That's why I cut mine up for steaks or grind them, but I get lazy, and those two small "football roasts" are awful easy to just pitch in a ziploc freezer bag as-is.
