Its a Umarex Surge. $120 with a scope from BPS. 1200fps with alloy, 100fps with lead.

The scope is alright but I'll probably get something better eventually.

Good stuff! Seems like you know your stuff on pellet guns but when you get another scope get one made for pellet guns. I had a nice regular scope on one that wouldn't hold zero for shit. Then my buddy/gun expert explained to me they gotta make em different because a pellet gun recoils forward instead of rearward like a rifle. Might of been total b.s. But I got one made for pellet rifles and it made a big difference.

As far as forward recoil, I'm pretty sure it was Newton who said "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction", but I could be wrong.

I wish I had a pellet gun like that when I was a kid. We used to pump ours up and shoot each other with them.
Tried to kill a squirrel once...never did get it to fall out if the tree. I think it died in its nest.

The springs that the reticles are mounted on inside the scope are on the opposite side of the reticle in a pellet gun scope.

It's not the PCP's or the Daisy 760/880s that have the issue, it's the big spring pistons that cause the issue in normal scopes because the piston is slamming forward, the opposite direction of what recoil normally occurs with a rim/center fire rifle

We always did 3 or 4. Once there was 5 you started to bleed. One or 2 only went about 50 feet.

This. Plus, couple that with the vibration added with the spring piston air rifles and you will ruin any rifle scope you drop on there. I don't think you would have quite the same issues if you went with a nitro piston model, but I could be wrong on that...
