So is this machine supposed to make the water move beneath the decoys? I've never used mechanical decoy stuff before. Explain this one to me please.

It's just a way to put ripples on the water , works great on the flat no wind days . Its okay if you can leave it out, around here they will steal you blind .ha ha

Called a "Thrasher" and there's youtube video, but none of the guys I know who've used trolling motors in that fashion have bothered to set them up a second season. Suppose, however, that your mileage may vary.
