Just need to ditch that galvy and get a black nipple. I'm sure it doesn't get hot enough up there to cause an issue, but galvy can flake.
Looks damn fancy

Don't forget to put a hook on the lid. That is probably the handiest feature on mine.

I'm pretty sure any attempt would work better than a defib if I needed to resuscitate my wife.

1/2 cup oil
1 cup cider vinegar
5 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 egg, beaten

I multiplied it by 4 when I did 3 chickens and had plenty. In my opinion, it's tough to marinade a whole chicken cut in half with the original amounts. Need a little bit more. I put my half chickens in a ziploc and dumped in marinade, shook them around, and put in the fridge. Flipped them before bedtime. Cooked at 225 for 2 hours (1 hour per side), then flipped for one more hour until I got to 170 at the thigh joint. I think next time I will wrap with foil for the last hour.

If you only have an hour or so, that's still enough time to marinade. The longer the better, but I've found about an hour to be the minimum.

Try some liquor in your marinade. Works like a charm. 8-)

Just sent a text to a craigslister for a barrel he's selling them for $10 a piece.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

I think this is where something clever about tapatalk should go.

Try this FF.
Put coals in bottom. Make circle with no coals in center
Put the grill on top of the coals way down inside. Do beercan chicken. Takes 60-90 minutes. The skin will burn. Its ok.
Tasty-juicy. That brinkmann is perfect for doing this. I used to have the same smoker.

Should I add wood to smoke the beer can chicken or just "grill" it?

Pork ribs with cherry wood today. I tried cherry with chicken and pork last couple times and it has replaced apple as my new go-to wood

I really like it. I prefer mesquite but I can only buy chips and they don't last very long. I have access to all the cherry I could possibly ever burn for free, so cherry it is

Take a trip down here to my place. More mesquite than you could ever use.
