Been feeding it about a year. All my dogs like it and do very well on it. I started to use it because the Wirehair didn't tolerate my old food (got the runs). I feed two beagles,a hyper lab,and a German Wirehair. I actually feed less the called for during slow times or they get to heavy.

oh hell no, the wife makes those decisions, the price tag makes my left eye twitch. If it were up to me he would be eating dog food made out of critters jr traps and we shoot

I go thru about 2 bags of 35 lb bags about every 1.5 months for my 2 mutts at $49 a bag. Plus whatever table scraps they beg from me.

The Dingo eats surprisingly little of the Taste of the Wild. The bag calls for 3 cups a day, but if we put 5 cups in her bowl, it'll be there for three days. She doesn't eat much, which is good, because she gets fat quickly. With the addition of the pup, not too sure how the food situation is going to play out. The Dingo has always been a "free range" eater, or whatever you call it when the food is just left out for them. Pretty sure that's not gonna work with a puppy.

All depends on the dogs. I leave food out all day for my 2 labs and they eat when they are hungry. When my first dog was a pup he got fed twice a day and then as he got older I just left food out for him. I was more lax about leaving food out for the 2nd lab as a pup.

My dog would have ate whenever but I would take her food away so that she finished it when I fed it to her. Did that so that I could feed her and she would eat it before we went hunting and it would have time to work thru her before she was running a field or swimming on a full stomach

The Dingo was suffering from dry skin, which is why we went back to TOW. I highly recommend it. You can usually see a difference in less than 2 says.

I fed Diamond for a while. They have had way too many recalls for me to use them, Taz also had gas and loose bowels with it. I now feed Loyall, $32 for 40#, he has done great.

This. I've always heard good about it but if you do feed Diamond keep a close eye on recalls. Been a few in the last couple years.

My wife's English bulldog has food allergies. Eats food that costs 80 bucks for 20 lbs from some fufu holistic dog food store. Just switched the Lab over to the 4health puppy formula from tractor supply. She loves it and its way better for her than the crappy IAMs I was giving her.

It's actually 127 individual pieces, but it measures out to about 1 3/4 cup.

Charlie gets Costco's Kirkland Signature Adult (chicken). Can't remember exact price but thinking its bout $22-$23 for 40 lb bag I think

On the contrary, even if you agree with their biases, which real, board certified, canine nutritionists often don't, all they're "analyzing" is what's on the label and under the assumption that it's the worst case allowed by labeling law. They are not looking at the mfg's actual practices and what is, in fact, in the bag.

The prime example being "meat" vs "meal". A feed listing "chicken," for instance, rather than "chicken meal," as it's first ingredient is heavily penalized under the DFA system, on the grounds that much of a meat is water cooked out in processing. Labeling law requires that ingredients be listed by weight prior to processing, so it is possible that could be the case. But there are also feeds like Pro Plan where the "chicken" is still first by weight post processing, or "as fed".

Another DFA black mark on Pro Plan which I've checked out is the listing of "animal fat," which DFA gigs for being generic, rather than high quality like "poultry fat". Had they bothered to ask, Pro Plan would have advised them that the fat used is that of the particular formula's primary protein source, so a chicken formula is, in fact, using a fat DFA likes.

In any event, like any information on the Internet, one really needs to consider the source. DFA isn't the work of canine nutritionists, instead "The ratings given and comments made about the foods assessed on this site and ingredients listed are the opinion of the Editors, who are a small team of volunteers each with a long standing interest in dog nutrition." Bonjour.
