Those estate sized parcels are ridiculous.

Yeah, I know of a few guys that have been offered $15k, and a couple parcels in Elkhart Co that have sold for $14k, but I'm not aware of much over that.

That's the problem... With the FIPs buying everything up, all the large parcels are being split into medium estate size properties. And the price jumps from 3-4K to $8K+ per acre.

It really makes it hard to buy.

About 20 years ago, my parents bought their place, a couple towns over, for like $800/acre.

How can they justify that increasing 10 fold?

My dad has the same profession and went to the sane college as me... the salary jump was no a factor of 10.

Needless to say... I want the gov to stop subsidizing crops so life will be affordable again.

And for the FIPs to head back to their cesspool.

its going to take more then getting rid of subsidizing crops to make life affordable but i do agree all direct payout should be gone and food stamps taken out of the farm bill.
the farm where i have my office borders on 2 sides some of the nicest housing in the state with up scale golf course in it. i call it the of fuck yes farm.

I think I'm going to hang on to it. The father in law had it at his office and had to switch offices when he changed jobs. He was going to throw it away and asked ignition wanted it. I told him if he threw it away I was bringing his daughter back to live with him.
