Not even really that hard of work, just general knowledge about waterfowl and their habits and a little bit of gas.  One thing to keep in mind is that time of year you will still likely be shooting a lot of brown ducks, so I would recommend brushing up on your duck ID on the wing, otherwise it can be a gamble every time you pull the trigger (setting up with a crossing shot and the sun at your back can help drastically).  If you are looking for any goose hunting, I would recommend a later date, as most of the residents have been thoroughly educated (early seasons starting in less than 2 weeks) and the migrators won't be down for another couple weeks (snows first, Canadas later).
