Yep, fun stuff. Though the bird doesn't appear to think so.

(The coyote dedicates much of his off-season to teaching our homers to avoid land predators and brings me the slow flushers with obvious pride in his philanthropy, despite center-punching some in the process of bringing them down. Last evening's prize was the male from my favorite, best producing, pair, and it was hard not to fuss when I saw it was bleeding from the beak. Couldn't find any, much less serious, external damage, however, and put the bird in the loft with slim hope of its survival. But I saw he was alive and throwing his weight around when I fed this morning. Hard to imagine what caused him apparent lung damage but didn't kill him.)

cool. Is it the lighting or is your pup multicolored? Still losing his winter coat?

He has multiple different colors on him. dark on the back then gets real light in his shoulders. I'll try and get a better picture

Thank you. Hes a little over 17 months. Last time I checked he was at a very lean 68 pounds. Bastard eats like a son of a bitch but you wouldn't ever know it.

That's wwhat he meant. Actual name is Piebald but people refer to them as calico

Thanks Eric, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had heard that. I guess the technical term (according to google) is melanistic deer, but that search comes up with deer of all sorts of colors so piebald might be that specific coloring?
