Duck Duck Geese

Honk!

Duck Duck Geese

Postby Baysider » Wed Sep 04, 2013 11:02 am

I was forced to come in a little late this morning to work by this growing flock of geese near my house. It was terrible what they did to me. Honking and calling as I drove by the past few days. So this morning I grabbed two friends and we got revenge.

27 birds down by 7:30am. The first group of 4 came in and stayed around 6:45. It took longer to clean them than the hunt lasted.

Don't know whether to offer congratulations or condolences, given the cleaning chore.

Those are some big geese. Congrats on your hunt.

Had them cleaned by 8:30 and off to work by 9. A little late to work but worth it after all the late nights Ive had at work this summer.

That's awesome! It was a nice morning for it, too, just cool enough to make it tolerable. I'm jealous.

I haven't seen a gnat yet this year, knock on wood. But the mosquitoes are downright painful.

For the resident season. Even get to shoot 1/2 hour after for the first two weeks before teal season comes in.

We got dropped from 15 to 8 a few years ago. Because the resident population is estimated at 88,000, and their target is 35,000. Makes sense.

When are they going to give you crop tags for geese?

You can get them now, but it's a pain in the ass, because USFWS has to issue them, not MD DNR.
