What do you mean that's not big? I only saw to bucks last year and they might have added up to 140...

If your buddy tells you he "shot a 13 pointer" would have any mental image of he rack?
If quack told me he "shot a 4X5 w/double eye guards" I pretty much can picture it.

And go, John.

Fuck this shit drove me nuts when I was in Michigan. People looked at me like I had a fucking horn coming out of my head when I told them I saw a nice 4x4. I've decided that the total point system is for those that shoot small deer. Nobody would tell his buddies he shot a nice 3x3, but I'll be damned if people don't brag about shooting a 6 point.

That's my point, there isn't but I think people say 6 point because it sounds respectable, 3x3 not so much. Quite honestly I couldn't care less, have probably been deer hunting less than a half dozen times in my life. That being said, its a 5x5, not a 10 point. Think of it this way, if you tell someone you shot 6 ducks, they always ask what you shot. If I tell you I shot 4 mallards a gadwall and a bootlip, you know exactly what I shot, not just how many.

You are confusing deer with elk. If someone came up to me and said they got a 6x6 I'm going to be thinking elk. 12 point registers as deer. And when I kill ducks it's just a number. When someone asks how many fish you caught do you break that down too?

Well to be fair in some states if you shot 4 greenheads you did shoot a limit.... Of mallards.....

Do they ever say they shot a limit on mallards? No they puff up and say "I/we limited" instead of just admitting they aren't good enough hunters to find odd birds to kill a limit.

It's a lie of omission. By not stating they killed the maximum number of mallards they could in one day, they are implying they killed the maximum number of ducks they could in one day. By it's very nature it's a statement meant to deceive.

We had a dude south of Topeka get sentenced last year for poaching a 198 7/8 typical inches on the Boone and Crockett measuring system. He got caught because someone at a deer show had a game cam pic of that deer 100 miles away from where he said he shot it.
