That's all I got up here right now. My mondo is in its homeland getting some work done! Hopefully it will be way better when I get it back, and no more of that God awful boot on either.

Are they changing the color for you, or did you buy a new one?

Turning a mallard green insert for it. I asked Jimbo to cut it just like his personal Mondos so we'll see how it comes out when I get it back. I never liked the old insert, probably something I was doing wrong but it never did sound right.

I think Mallard green barrel, and insert with a white acrylic band would be sweet. I've considered asking for a green and white daisy slayer. I just can't stomach paying shop prices...

It really is dumb to buy them from the shop new as many lightly used ones that are out there, but if you want a custom one you aint gotta choice.

When did the stock insert become anything but a copy of his cut? As with most everything else Jim's tuned for me, I had to retune the reed to get it to run what I think "right" for me. That boy's got some lungs. Been running my reed for a couple years, now, and put his original in the call just yesterday "just to see". Ain't nothing changed with practice there, I still sound like crap with it.

(They're doing a remake of the original Microhen for me with an unfinished hedge insert and black acrylic barrel to replace the spinner bait acrylic I've been using. Getting old, I guess, because the color scheme I used to think pretty sharp now bugs me.)

I had heard that his was different but I don't know. We'll just have to see how it comes out to know for sure. I've always really liked your microhen, definitely one of my favorite custom RNTs that's floating around out there.

If the new one turns out as hoped, a grandson will probably get the spinner bait call.

And when you don't want motion, lob a weighted Bomag into the deeks. Knocks the fish out so you can retrieve after there is a clear window between flocks

Yep, if your fast enough you don't need waders to retrieve ducks or fish.

Picked up a Browning BPS with three chokes and soft padded gun case for $300. Function and stocks are perfect but the bluing is worn shiney on top of the receiver. Will make a great loaner gun. Trying to think of what color to paint it or dip it.
