Yeah, I hunt the Washington side so it's the south winds that make for a ride back to the launch fun. Also, We wade into that place as well and the freaking ice was getting pushed on top of ice sheets. Shit cut our waders and bruised our shins and thighs. That was a race then too.

Fuck that! I hate hunting in ice, lucky for me I've only had to do it a few times.

Best days we have had though were windy as hell. Keeps you going back.

I love hunting in the wind. I wish I could post videos because I have one of me and juice box hunting a 50 Mph wind last year. It's great

Remember that New Years storm a few years ago.... Shit had sustained gust up to 90+. The rice field I hunted that day out in Loma Rica practically had all the water blown out of it. By far the most intense weather I've ever seen. We sat out there all day. Transformers were exploding all over the place and trees and power lines were down every where. Fuckin awesome.

It was actually kind of scary. One of the guys I was hunting with got a call from his wife an hour after LST. Their horse barn collapsed and kill his kids horse. Friggin crazy. He threw his cell phone out in to the rice field. The wind caught it and I swear it made it to the next check like 100 yards away.

Remind me not to break a leg when I hunt with you guys. Sounds like I wouldn't be getting to the hospital anytime soon.

You don't want to look all helpless around Boot. You'd go home with a hurt leg and a sore bottom...

I think that was the year that I was hunting the Justeson Ranch and almost didn't get out of the truck. Got to the blind 30 minutes late and had the best shoot I ever had in California. We were going out to breakfast and John's wife called, Honcut Creek had flooded and Hightest Kennels was underwater. What a mess.

RSI? Color looked funky in the pic. I may need some Fed 3"ers, my friends that shoot them refuse to save them for me. Did pick up 175 ACTIV hulls a few days ago.

Spent my morning exploring a new piece of marsh the big cheese leased sight unseen. Couldn't find a spot for a suitable pond because it's all very shallow with a hard sand bottom, but it turns out it has two boat trails: the one I took the mudboat in on and another hidden by flotant I stepped into. Looks like my next purchase(s) may be replacement for the "mil spec" phone that shut down after that very quick dip and/or the camera I've not tried yet. Pulled both batteries and have them baking on the truck dash, we'll see...

Bad as my morning sucked, it was worse for the fellow who's taking a several thousand dollar hickey on the word of an "old friend". Got burned on two other word-of-mouth deals earlier this Summer, while I was off picking eggs, so he's having a hell of a year.
