We just rebuilt the diesel pump. We are still thinking about flooding the back part of the property after Thanksgiving.

We generally get our big push of northern birds in the first week of December. I have good a number of specks and ducks already. But weather helps get the bulk of them down here.

I know jim would align it with a tape measure, a carpenters square, and a bench rule.

Or use a piece of string in place of the bench rule if its not available.

After I did my upper and lower ball joints, I dropped it back on the ground, and did all the tie rod ends. I used a tape measure to figure out where to put the driver's inner and outer ends Then I figured that since I had done it all with the front wheels on the ground, it would be close enough. I eyeballed from the front and back, and it looked good enough for me.


Only now do I need to take it in for an alignment and new front tires. About 19,000 miles later. And the tires have over 70K on them anyway, so I was due for some front ones. Back ones are still fine.

I need it to rain alittle. I can't afford fuel for the whole season if its another dry year.

Makes sense to flood up later, you get a couple weekends that are good in October, but November is so slow. I hope we have some good weather this year, just don't want to flood out again this year.
