According to Assa, you comprised by making tacos out of your fried fish. That was not the intention of the meal.

I said to do just that with your pheasant, and Assa told he I was wrong, and that it was a compromise.

I think it's brilliant. Assa says it's a compromise. It's an Assa law. We can't win...

No, you're not following me. I cooked the fish so I could make fish tacos, the wife just chose not to eat it in a taco shell. It was my intention of the meal.

Left over tortillas from the pheasant last night?

Tonight the wife wanted to do a fish fry, but last night I was watching Diners Drive ins and Dives and the fuckers kept showing fish tacos, so I made my fish into tacos.

I'll concede, but this says your wife wanted fish. So you made fish.

The show made you want tacos, sooooo you compromised sharing a regular meal of fried fish to eat yours as tacos.

Same as if you made the pheasant into tacos. Saw tacos, wanted tacos, make tacos...

If your true intention was to do both, that may be different, BUT did that not appear to be the case from your initial statement.

Either way, you killed two birds with one stone which I think is brilliant.

The show made me want fish tacos, not just tacos. She said she took fish out for dinner - I said "sweet, mine is going into taco form".

I'm tired and bored, they were good though.

Black rock fish and ling cod from my trip to the coast in august. I cut into pieces that will fit 2 in a small corn shell and cook with Louisiana shrimp fry.

You will lead a far happier, more productive life. People will want to be around you, and will gravitate toward your leadership. You will never be pissed at yourself. Your decisions will be respected and left alone. You will have far less stress and people will not bother you with trivial nonsense.

But by all means, don't worry about it if you don't want to. But don't listen to FF either- he's got it as fucked up as Betty has fucked up The 50/50.

it's simple, make a decision and be happy with it, don't settle for something less. You can't always make the decision but when you can, do what is best for you.

The short version is: chose one or the other so that one person gets exactly what they want. A compromise generally leave both parties mildly disappointed. Easy example is: the wife wants Chinese but you want Mexican for dinner don't compromise and have Italian - you'll both be disappointed. Pick either the chinese or the Mexican, one of you will be completely satisfied.

Both sides slaughtering their convictions just so they can say that they came to an agreement is stupid.

It also forces you to be exposed to the "other side". If its really as bad as you thought it would be, now you can speak from experience. Sort of a "know thine enemy" thing. Or you might find some qualities in it that you didn't know where there.

It doesn't work unless both parties understand the process.

Exactly. A medium would be too small for you and too big for your wife. You'd both be equally uncomfortable if you settled for buying it.
