The give part. You get a medium shirt, you're both unhappy when you wear it. You get an XL for you, your wife doesn't get to a wear a shirt, so it's good- you get to look at boobs. If your wife gets the small shirt, you don't get one, but she's happy and bites your nipples. Win-win. Compromise sucks.
