I am going hunting. Cocksucker decides to have a midterm today. I haven't had the best adendance record in this class, so there is no way he was going to le me take it early.

I'm done with exam at three, then pointing the truck at Sault Saint Marie.

I'll get there in time to tuck the boys in and read em a story.

I gps squirrel nest locations for the gov't primarily, but have to use GIS to make squirrel nests location maps because thats the real deliverable. Something about NY law that says gas fracking cant kill squirrels.

There is a joke about you being "nuts" in there somewhere.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

Someone please tell me what the hell "system" is in place for teaching kids to spell. There's no rhyme or reason whatsoever, and math is just as bad. Fucking haphazard nonsense.

I dont want to know what they teach small children and why.
The system COUNTS on this fact or we'd all storm the schools over the four R's.
What sucks is all the "guns are evil" crap thats getting taught quietly in the gym.
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

Started doing two digit subtraction (the top and bottom kind) last week. Today, came home with the kind where you have to borrow a ten. Only it's not called "borrowing", it's called "breaking down into tens" or some dumb shit. Nothing like working for about 3 days on subtracting double digits, with about 10 practice problems a day total (that's all- I'm not exaggerating) before moving on to an abstract concept like "borrowing a ten". And then teaching it in a stupid manner.

We were doing that in first grade. And in addition to the addition and subtraction tables on the wall, we did worksheet after worksheet of problems, usually about 50 problems per, for weeks, until it became second nature. Heaven forbid something is taught that way. I guess it's easier to raise children to be hopelessly dependent on the government by flailing around, jumping from concept to concept. Which I'm sure is the way they want it. There is no incentive in having highly educated functioning citizens, because that very thing would detract from the people who would support the very government which is in charge of the system.

I'm telling you, the snap is coming.

i see the work from my girlfriend's classes, you can tell those kids do not understand subtraction. i told her if she's teaching that add a negative shit that she needs to stop now.

you can't honestly expect a child to understand subtraction when you tell them to add it to make it subtract, how fucking retarded is that?

It's bad. I was actually TOLD that the school doesn't expect them to "get" subtraction until 3rd grade, when the curriculum causes it to "all come together". This is the most asinine thing I've heard in a while. It's just dumb, lazy, and fucked up. I don't appreciate my child's education being the result of a social experiment. She does, however, let me know regularly that I need to recycle, and not put as much "gas from the jeep in the air, because it causes people to die". Whenever this happens, I tell her to inform whoever is telling her that that they can call me, because "my dad loves this country and the rest of the world sucks". Hopefully, she will, and I will get a call.
