Not one of those answers will solve the question they are asking. I really wanted to just have him leave it blank.

to take things along a different path. My daughter catches a cold last week. No fever, so off to school (per policy). Because at back to school nite the super gives a big lecture about how important attendance is (state aid is attached based on targets) So Give her OTC meds in morning to dry her up and mitigate coughing. Write a note to nurse with bubble pack attached (shows manufacturers label on back) for a repeat in afternoon.
She comes home snotting and coughing and Im about to ream her for not going to nurse. She says, nurse said school policy is no medicine can be given without doctors note except Tylenol. This was tylenol sinus. Over the counter. Keep in mind my daughter is in eighth grade, she can go to the store and buy it herself. But the health Nazis wont administer w/o a note. As if my physician wants to be bothered. I hope she is patient zero and sneezed snot over everybody.
I understand prescription medicine needs a note. I understand not wanting kids carrying unlabeled pills in the pockets or purses. But really a parental note with OTC medicine and you wont administer. Where is common sense?
I want to have my kid just keep it in her pocket, go to lav and be done with it. But I know her luck and as she pops the bubble pack, a tablet will go skidding by Mrs Salty Ass, the hall monitor, and them I'll be homeschooling. F#$#$^#$%^$% !!!!!!!!

Since when did homework become a group activity? I now have not one, but two extensive group projects to do concurrently. If you have to do it at a job it's one thing, at least everyone has the same schedule there. Now i have to find time to meet with two different groups in my limited free time. I also don't like being graded on how well someone else does, that's a fucking bullshit way to operate.

I hate this, dude. Refuse to work in a group larger than 4 people. Once a group gets bigger than that, you actually do more work coordinating, trying to keep track of everyone, and keeping everyone on the same page as you do actually working. Best group projects are going to be done by 2-4 people, regardless of the scope of the project.

Almost everyone of my classes has had a group project that accounted for .25 to .5 of the grade. It's a major pain in the ass. The only thing you get out of it is some good portfolio pieces, which apparently you ought to have these days.

Rule # 1 - "I didn't get that e-mail" is not a fucking excuse.

yeah, it's fucking stupid. In college you shouldn't have to do these stupid "make a friend" feel good projects, which is really what they are. My projects are in Vertebrate Anatomy and LRES (GIS stuff), both are going to be pretty involved and i really don't have the time to meet with people outside of class, especially now that i need to be at work at 3 am.

I'm not a people person, so working in groups of people just pisses me off. especially so when the people involved are all retarded freshmen. People wonder why government can't get shit done, it's because of the Dogma they preach-Cooperation.

What do you mean by portfolio pieces Bill? i have no idea what you mean.

When you go in for interview you bring along a compilation of work you completed as an undergrad that shows what you are all capable of doing. It's a good thing I guess, but only proves that you were able to achieve inside of a windowless box with someone giving you detailed rubrics.

If I were an interviewer, I'd like to think of the degree as a rubber stamp. I want to gauge your character and hear about any sort of past work experience.

If they are hiring a GIS tech, I think its reasonable that they wany to know what an applicant is capable of, but at the same time, it only proves that you were able to achieve inside of a windowless box, with someone giving you feedback and rubrics.

Crap, I already said that

yeah, for GIS maybe. And i agree, the theoretical assignment doesn't give you the whole picture of the applicant.

by the way i have a project idea involving GIS, but i don't want to use it for the group bullshit because i was planning on using it for a real capstone project sometime down the road. I don't want to put my idea out there only to have it get sniped by someone.
