wal-Mart is ruining the sport i love

Any ever go in and see the dumb crap they are selling "waterfowlers"? Two calls fused together? Are you kidding me?

They also had texas rigs that used little plastic bags full of sand for a weight.

Your walmart has a waterfowl section?

The only waterfowling thing my Wal Mart sells are Remington NitroSteel and Winchester Xperts. Sometimes Blindsides until the opening day warriors are all stocked up. I don't buy anything there towards hunting except the occasional slate striker that I always seem to lose before the season starts.

One of my hunting buddies bought that WalMart kit for some of his teal decoys right before season last year. Honestly they work pretty decent for the small decoys.

I've never seen these kits, but there is no way I could buy something that used plastic bags filled with sand for weights. It just seems like they would get ripped open the first time out.

i avoid the place at any cost.. literally i will buy hunting and fishing gear at a bit higher price at the local family owned hunt/fish place down town before going to walmart to buy anything. i try to avoid basspro if i can (altho its much harder). theyre killing little mom and pop outdoor stores like that too.

What about the little mom and pops that go big? Ive thought about that myself. We dont have ANY hunting stores within 50 miles of me. I do all of my shopping at Rogers. They were once a very small operation

I love Walmart. And I'm pretty sure they employ more people than all of the mom and pops they put out of business combined.

Me too. I still shop there from time to time, but still hate the place. The reason I was there was to get an 11X14 frame for one of the Canada pics I had blown up. Went to a camera shop to get it printed, but still went to wally world for the frame.

Put me in on the love wal-mart group.

Why hate on something that is successful? They fill a need in our lives as Americans and it's capitalism at it's finest.

Some people argue that at the mom and pop places you get "that special touch" well most people obviously don't care about that, this is America we want our tolient paper in 30 packs and don't care if the cashier doesn't remember our names.

People that hate on walmart because it's the thing to do piss me off just about as much as people at four way stops that are all like "no you go fist".

If a 4 way stop is working right, you dont really have to stop at them:lol:

Its not the price structure that I hate, its not the quantities I can buy in that I hate, its not even the "big picture" of a chain store taking over the world...... its the experience I have every time I go in a wal mart that I hate. There is a reason walmart employs so many people at an unbelievably low wage, nobody else wants them. I also hate the fact that every time I go in there are 57 checkouts and 3 of them are open, one being the '20 items or less' line.

I generally appear to be the cosmopolitan sophisticate when I go into ours. They pay pretty good comparatively, down here. Cashiers about $9 an hour.

My problem with Wally World is it has single handedly lowered the bar on what is exceptable quality. The masses are to stupid to notice because it is cheap. To be competitive all stores have sacrificed, now, trying to find a good quality anything is practically impossible.
