And if you'd like to come get some of these $5 possum, feel free. I got three more of those cocksuckers today. I'm gonna feel like a dick if possum goes for $12 a crack, and I threw $300 in the tax ditches

Is anyone around there taking whole possums? There's a few places that buy furs around here, whole, skinned, or cleaned and stretched.

I think you might get a buck for a opossum on the carcass if there was a buyer close, but I think the real issue is that he doesn't like touching them anymore than the skunks especially since they are hardly profitable

I'm jealous of the fox and coons. My coon brought 38$ last year and it was my first one I put up. It graded SDA. Is take $40 any day for a coon. But I'm really jealous cause I don't have any steel out right now.

And I just picked this fella up next to the road to add to today's haul. The Jeep is reaching new levels of stink today.

Here's a video of how I kill the foxes. The first crack should be on the snout or head- not real hard, just enough to stun them. And make sure it's square, or you can split the hide. Then when they go down, give them a really good whack on the side of the neck and then stand on them. Keeps the hide good. I'm sure some will find it cruel, but that's the way it is, really.

That actually was pretty quick and quite. I prob will just shoot mine seeing how a 22 won't affect the price but the potential for blood kinda sucks

I wouldn't shoot them. Blood on the white fur never comes out, and you'll get docked a bit for it. Not much, but every little bit counts. If you don't carry a beating stick, and you catch a fox, any piece of a limb or branch will work. Crack them on the snout instead of the head, and they'll go down. You don't need much at all for this shot. In the video, it sounded like I hit him harder than I actually did. Then hit them in the neck and stand on them. They'll die plenty easy.

****I can't recommend using anything besides an iron bar for coons, though. They'd laugh at a stick. Hell, they'd probably laugh at a piece of cordwood. Fuckers are tough.

I think Jim is the fox whiperer. He just ever so gently whispers sweet nothings to them and they roll over and go to sleep. ;)

Feral cats are the worst. If I catch anymore, I'll try to get a video of those. Might be tough, because I'm usually steppin and fetchin pretty good, trying to get a good swing. Or 10. Those things make coons look like pussies.

Shot one in the head with a 22 it was in leg hold. Jump so high and hard on impact cut it's leg off with the snare.

That's my toolbox. I wanted one that didn't take up too much room, like the plastic ones you can buy, so I built this one a few years ago with scrap wood. It's got everything I need to work on the Jeep or another vehicle, jumper cables, couple tow straps and chains, and all the tool;s I'd need to build a house, minus a circ saw. And it hides the shotgun and bandoleer that fits between it and the seat back.

Just like having my shit with me.

May if you compromise and keep it in there, the result could be better for you with the diesel. Worst possible scenario is 50/50.
